Kate’s extensive experience in family law, as well as her perspective as a parent of a child with special needs, contribute to her natural gift of compassionate, personalized advocacy. She knows every decision that families must make have present and long-term impact on education, financial well-being, and their legal plans. Kate represents clients in the areas of guardianship, trust planning, and transition planning.

Prior to joining Clancy & Associates, Ltd., Kate worked for over 12 years in family law, where she provided compassionate litigation support to clients involved in all areas of matrimonial and family law related matters. Kate has worked closely with clients over the years as a true advocate for their families and their long-term interests. A strong researcher, writer, and analytical problem solver, Kate draws on her extensive drafting experience and precise attention to detail in creating a plan for clients that incorporates their address their individual needs. In addition to her experience in family law, Kate is a Certified QDRO Professional with extensive experience in drafting QDROs and QILDROs. Kate is licensed to practice law in Illinois.
Kate earned her law degree from DePaul University College of Law, consistently making the Dean’s List. She received her Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from St. Louis University. Kate is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the Chicago Bar Association, the DuPage County Bar Association, the Illinois State Bar Association, and the Academy of Special Needs Planners.
Kate and her husband have three young children and reside in Glen Ellyn. In her spare time, Kate loves watching her children participate in various sports and performing arts activities. She enjoys traveling with her family and being active outdoors. Kate is also an avid runner and has completed several marathons.
